THE PLAY:

A one-act thriller set in a living room, where a friendly game of chess becomes a deadly game of cat and mouse.After discovering her husband is having an affair, Amy is distraught. But what is worse is her husband plans to "dispose" of her. Amy hatches a plan. It's kill or be killed. In this two hander it's all a question of who is the hunter, and who is the hunted. Michael likes to think he's always one move ahead but perhaps this time Amy has him in check. Its a play full of emotions like betrayal, revenge, frustration, sorrow, guilt with the suspense flavour.

The play starts with a simple conversation between Michael and Amy playing a game of chess. But things escalate when Amy starts asking Michael questions about Jennifer ( with whom he is having an affair). Things starts getting heated up with Amy so disgusted that she pulls out a gun to kill Michael. Can Michael get out of her move or is he checkmate?

    

Memories of the Play :

  •  Every one involved in the play was a first-timer be it the director or the cast. Without much experience the team pulled off the play through a rigorous practice throughout 1 month with approx 3 hours daily.

  •  The play had to be prepared in a very short time span owing to most of the first yearites having their compre. So the workforce was less but good enough to get the work done.

  • Due to the tight schedule there wasn't a proper run through with both Lights and Sounds, but if turned out pretty well on the main day

  • Given the compres, and also many other activities in the campus, the audience footfall was expected to be an issue but still it managed to cover 75% if the Main Audi.

  •  After all the hardwork put in and hearing the positive responses from the audience, we can proudly say that HDC is back with a bang after a gap of 2 years.
