The Play :

The three acts of the play potray the three forms of governments: The Monarchy in Ancient times, the Dictatorship of Hitler and the present day Democracy of President Bush.
Taqat was first performed as the competitive entry from BITS in Oasis 2004, where it won the Best Play award (2nd Prize). Later it was performed at CEERI in the February, 2005. The play apart from its strong theme had brilliant performances from the narrators of the play Pratyush Singh and Rachana Reddy. All the actors had to play more than two characters.
The play had many difficult and symbolic formations and was sprinkled throughout with thought-provoking poetry by Pratyush Singh. The Holocaust and WTC towers scenes were appreciated well. The play had live music by Bipin Kulkarni(flute) and Rajan Pandey(dholak). Kamal Deep played the flute for CEERI performance
During the CEERI performance, few actors had changed, the changes are as follows:
Priyanka Bansal <--> Surabhi Dewra
Mohammed Nazmi<--> Ashwini Kumar Chakre
Prabhal Sharma <--> Himanshu Kerni
Archana Srivastava <--> Apeksha Godiyal
